Mark Robert Henderson is a software engineer who likes to explore the ethical and philosophical sides of technology. This is his web site and blog.

Mark grew up in central Massachusetts playing too many computer games. His father threw Kernighan and Richie’s C Programing language book in front of him and delivered an ultimatum: If you’re going to sit in front of this thing all day, you’re going to learn how to use it.

By age 13, his first website went live and hasn’t stopped learning or programming since. Over his career, Mark worked for marketing agencies, video game companies, defense contractors. He currently works at the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc.

This site contains three main sections:

  1. Technology Ethics contains long-form “deep dives” into ethical and philosophical topics, and how they pertain to technology in general.
  2. Cybersecurity Musings contains brief explorations of current cybersecurity events and topics as they are relevant.
  3. Conference Talk Notes are Cliff’s Notes style summaries of lengthy tech talks, provided as a service to the community at large.
